About Us 🤎 Manea Kids Whanau
Kia Ora & Kia Orana — welcome to Manea Kids! 🤎🌴🥥🌳
We’re a small, family-owned business based in the lush, rural bush of Northland, Aotearoa, nestled near the beautiful Waipoua Kauri Forest in a small settlement called 📍Donnellys Crossing (DC - for short). This area has been home since my partner was younger and me during the more recent years, but have always been from the community of Dargaville.
DC is where the heart of Manea Kids was born — surrounded by nature, whānau, and culture. 🤎
We are a proud Cook Island Māori family, deeply rooted in our heritage and passionate about keeping our culture alive. Our family ties stretch back to the islands of Mangaia, Palmerston, and Aitutaki — and every piece we create carries a piece of those islands with it. Our Māori roots connect back to the iwi of Ngapuhi, Ngatiwhatua and Tainui.
Manea Kids was created as a way to celebrate our identity and pass it on to our next generation — through clothing and products that are not only meaningful, but also modern and aesthetic. Our designs are inspired by the beauty of Cook Islands culture, reimagined in a way that speaks to today’s Manea babies and modern māmās.
From our aesthetic brown and beige colour palette to earthy tones and minimal styles, each item is made with intention — to honour our roots while embracing the present.
We’re so grateful you’re here and part of this journey. Whether you’re from the islands, the bush, the city, or anywhere in between — Manea Kids is for you.
With love,
The Manea Kids whānau
